AskAITutor is operated by A2A International Sdn Bhd, a company registered in Malaysia. We provide an AI-powered educational tutoring application for students. Contact: info@ask2axcel.com.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect when you create an account:
- Name and email address
- Birth year
- Country and school type
- First and second language preferences
- Response style preference
- Profile photo (optional)
When you use the app we also collect:
- Chat conversations with AI tutors
- Favourite tutors selections
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide personalised tutoring adapted to your age, curriculum, and language.
- Save your chat history so you can continue learning across sessions.
- Improve our AI tutoring quality.
4. AI Processing
Your messages are processed by third-party AI services (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Alibaba Qwen, and Anthropic) to generate tutoring responses. These providers process your messages to generate responses but do not store your personal data for their own purposes. No personally identifiable information (name, email) is sent to AI providers — only your message content and learning context.
5. Children's Privacy
AskAITutor is designed for school-age students, including children under 13. For users under 13, we require parental or guardian consent before account creation. Schools and teachers may provide this consent on behalf of parents in an educational setting. We do not knowingly collect more data from children than is necessary for the tutoring service.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (cloud database) with encryption in transit and at rest. Our servers are hosted on Render. We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with:
- AI service providers (OpenAI, Google, Alibaba, Anthropic) for processing tutoring requests
- Cloud infrastructure providers (Supabase, Render) for hosting
8. Your Rights
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Withdraw consent for data processing
- Request deletion of your account and data

9. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time through the app, which will remove your personal data and chat history.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app.
